Core Values

This weeks installment is early but I wanted to make up for may not so cheery installment last week... here are some core values to be shared with the group we will be camping with at Burning Man later this year which I wanna incorporate it into my every day life :)

1. communication- authenticity, truthful, sincere, consideration of other, listening, understanding and being understood, willingness, open heart, gentle, sweetness, respect, direct, patience, boundaries
2. cooperation- shared responsibility, teamwork, equality, LOVE, fun, flexibility, sweetness, resolve, participation, generosity, patience
3. expression- creativity, empowerment, play, inspiration, magic, musical, FUN, freedom, spontaneity, gratitude, collective tolerance, encouragement, fostering, permission
4. integrity- honesty, being real, balance, keep your promises/word, all parts working together, predictability, doing your best, showing up
5. mentoring- inclusiveness, generosity, conscious of newbies and taking people out to the playa, modeling behavior, sharing responsibility, expectations, patience, joyful show and tell, sharing, permission, skillful mentoring, ego-less

a very tough week...

No pictures... work was what it normally is but was made much harder by distractions from some personal issues I am working on... It was a very tough week. It will get better but requires time and energy I wish I didn't have to spend. Tis part of life though.
Back to regularly scheduled programing next week...

So I worked only 60 hours this last week and got to play quite a bit. Monday night after work I did a presentation at the Deaf Camp for their new counselors on medical issues they may need to deal with with the campers. I was exhausted but it turned out to be really fun and they have a FANTASTIC crew this year. Thursday night I went to a free concert on the hill in Snowmass (just before coming home to that sunset). I hiked Aspen Sat and Sun and it was awesome. Sat night Brad and I went into town and met up with a friend of Brad's who he hasn't seen in 25 years and has known since he was a young kid spending summers in Snowmass. Despite not seeing each other in so long they have had some parallels in their lives including studying Aikido for many years and being into rafting. Today after getting down off the mountain I went to the dojo and watched the end of their 1 1/2 hour practice and even got on the mat myself. Then we went rafting between Carbondale and Glenwood with 2 other friend. The 5 of us had a spectacular time despite the thunderstorm and hail we rafted through. Then dinner at Gandhi's and home to get ready for another busy week. Really overall a spectacular weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summer in Aspen

Pictures from the week: 1taken from my bedroom window -rainbows, 1 on my driveway- balloon, and the last, Brad's flowers he sent while away (picture taken off since I just found out they were guilt flowers) :(...I just finished a >110 hour week of work and am VERY glad that is done. 2 days off in a row has been FANTASTIC. Brad came home yesterday morning after I got off call at 7am from him being away for 2 weeks. He was exhausted also but we had a good 3 hours together before he had to go off to play a wedding in Marble where he stayed over. He will be back today to do work for Grass Roots this afternoon and then tonight we will catch up for real planning for the next several months. I hiked yesterday and will go up Aspen with a friend today... there has been a lot of rain so likely will get rained on but better to be out there than not. Then another busy week... >50 hours in clinic and deaf camp work etc. Then hopefully it will calm down a little before insanity hits again.

stand for peace and love

July 4th weekend... I uploaded this picture because Patti asked on facebook what you stand for (2 fingers in an upside down V usually on your other palm in ASL) and I posted that we stand for peace and love... she enjoyed that!
Work this week was busy as it is full on on-season! Had meetings after work Thurs night til late and Wed night had a STABLE course on taking care of very sick newborns. Then call this weekend has been VERY busy with several people trying to die on me and lots of late nights. I did get out and hike up Aspen mountain 1 day and that was GREAT! If I could do that every day I would be very happy but there is no time. Also got a new phone... I hated the new palm which didn't work nearly as well as the old palm and am much happier with the droid. Having SOME issues with email but hopefully that will sort itself out.
