on-season...

Twas another busy week in on-season. Honestly I really can't even remember what happened all week but there was plenty of work again and again and again and again... Saturday we had an end of the world party since there is a quasar that is pointing our way as per our invite that had a picture of a quasar attached. The photo is of a quasar with a spike of light coming out of the center which is a gamma ray burst. One of these cosmic bad boys is pointing right at us. Brad saw it on the History Channel the other night. Now when this thing fires it's gamma ray burst, it's basically gonna wipe out all life on earth. Hence the end of the world party. We will have another in October if we are still here. Then Sunday is an English in Action party, hiking and a friend staying over. Then it is back to work for another week with call for Labor Day weekend. After that it should slow down for off season... phew!!!!!!!!!!!

Claire's visit

Claire and I hiked through Peru together. She is from England and she and her friends came out for the week to hang out in Aspen. They are STUDS and have done more hiking in the first 2 days than most locals do in a year. I have had to work every day they are here but we have been able to get together at night and it has been wonderful! The pix are from Mon night after work... then took them to an Aspen/English/Irish pub Tues night and met them again Fri for breakfast. They went on their way and I hiked up to American lake which was STUNNING. Truely beautiful. Then an enjoyable dinner with Brads folks after working with Shinta and work this morning. Had a great hike up Aspen Mountain (a great workout) and now REST to get ready for the next week. SOON on-season will be over, yeah.but alas the colors are already changing (summer this year was too short). Hope you are all well...

Cindy's Memorial

This was a hard week. Tons of work and some emotional times. Peter and Bella came here to celebrate Cindy's memorial (their wife/mother)... Cindy and I were friends and I had delivered Bella and then the family moved to Fla to be closer to Cindy's family and for Peter's work... 4 years later Cindy became pregnant with Zeva and was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy 1/2 way through the pregnancy. She delivered and was doing better but 6 weeks after delivery died suddenly in Peter's arms from a fatal arrhythmia. Her autopsy showed a congenital abnormality necessitating a heart transplant. It was devestating to many people since she was such a wonderful human being. I will miss her incredibly.

a triathelon and otherwise busy week...

First of all the photos are completely out of order (mostly backwards)... SORRY but can't figure out how to do it better...
So last weekend we had friends visiting from CA and we hung out with them in between training for the triathelon this weekend, going to a play and party for English in Action with Shinta and her family and hiking... the week was very busy with training and work and then the triathelon this weekend. Team Splash, Crash and Dash (SCD) did well with me being Crash and all of us finishing our races in good time with no Crashes... you can see me in the handoffs of the timer with Splash and Dash but I was too fast for them to photograph while biking (NOT!)... It was fun... after the race I hiked 2 hours with Clifford and now am writing this. Next week will be busy with work but otherwise no extra stuff PHEW (I think/hope)... Lots of pix and a tired Kim make for less writing this week... more anon :)... until next week... cheers
