Rocky Grass

Had a great weekend at Rockey Grass... a Hippie once again listening to great music, hanging with great friends. I even got to visit with Kay and Darryl and Liana at their house when I rode to Boulder from Lyons and the next day rode from Lyons up to Estes (I am training for a triathelon-- the bike part of Team SCD-- Splash, Crash, Dash)... I rode 70 miles this last weekend. Back to work on Tuesday and then Tuesday night rode part of the way up to Maroon Bells with Brad as my trainer (he had some great tips)... it was raining and I froze on the way back but it is all in the name of training... Wed through Fri more work and then tomorrow I go to a play with Shinta and the folks at English in Action. Sunday hopefully will be recovery and another training session with Brad (gotta get in another 50 miles or so on the bike) since the triathelon is coming up soon! I hope all who read this are doing well... hi to you all...

Pix of the fun with the Aldridge's while they were visiting. Tis is a repeat but it explains the pix: Mahlon and I hiked the mountain and met Miles and Leah up top where they had been playing after taking the gondola up. That night we watched Harry Potter which was fun. The next day we went to the animal shelter and played with kittens and walked Rocco (a 4month old out for his first hike... he and the kids had a blast). So much fun. They entertained themselves while I worked til they left Wed but then we plan to meet up again for Rocky Grass in Lyons this weekend (along with Ellen yahoo)... so much fun... we love when they visit from CA!
Work has been busy which is good... I am still trying to train for my bicycle part of the triathelon that is coming up in August.
Not much else new and more pix and info after the weekend:)))

Cathedral lake

Hi all... I had a good week after got back from Marblefest (see last week's entry)... worked very hard since, for some reason, on-season has finally seemed to have arrived. Brad played a benefit for Chris Klug's organ donor benefit. It was great. Then he played another set the next night in Basalt that people loved. I got to spend Thursday hiking with a friend (after an early morning meeting at the hospital) and it was a SPECTACULAR DAY... Went back to work Fri and enjoyed a great dinner with Brad's parents and some friends of Brad's and their kids. Then our friends from CA showed up and I got to spend the day with them today (Brad had another gig... this time in Alma for the weekend). Mahlon and I hiked the mountain while his kids took the gondola to the top and played up there while waiting for us to get up. Then we went home to rest before going back to town to see Harry Potter which was good (if you are a Harry Potter fan). Life is good and hope it is the same for you all.

July 4th and beyond...

So I was on call July 4th weekend but it was better than expected. Somewhat busy in the hospital but had time to go out and hike with Clifford and join friends at a pick up volleyball party at a friends house. We in Aspen are continuing to deal with our pschyzophrenic weather which gives some nice rainbows (and some angst for not being our usual sunny Aspen all the time- the mosquitoes and flowers are loving the rain though). Hiked up Aspen Mountain to celebrate the end of my call weekend and then back to work for the week. Then call Fri night while Brad went to play music at Marblefest. Clifford and I joined him after I got off call on Sat and it was a lot of fun. Good music and got to hang out with lots of friends who had never been there before who came and joined us and I think will go back next year. I found a waterfall that I hiked to this morning before heading home and then biking with Clifford in an attempt to train for my part of a marathon that I will be doing next month. I put a carrier on the back of the bike and Clifford followed me up hill running and then I put him in the carrier on the way down and it was good. In fact, life is good. Hope it is for you all too.
