What a fun weekend we had last week going down to celebrate Satori's birthday. I also had the added bonus of seeing Kay and Darryl... got to hike with Kay in Dillon just before going to Silverthorne and playing with Ken, Holly and Satori. Brad got to check out a really cool guitar of Holly's which "she so deserves" and they jammed with Ken while entertaining the rest of us... had a GREAT meal with Ken's sisters and mom and went hiking with Ken and Holly... it was an AWESOME time and got to listen to Brad and Holly sing happy birthday as Satori danced in her tu-tu... What a great time (did I mention that before?). Then back to work for a week with Brad heading off to work High Sierra and me being on call for the fourth of July weekend (back to reality!). Shinta is sharing more of her food with me and it is AWESOME! Got to join in listening to Karl Denson on Snowmass mountain for a free concert with her, Sekar, Katut and Jenny and her kids... and hiked up both Aspen and Buttermilk this week.. It makes for a great week

Last weekend was our 7 year anniversary and we spent it having fun with music and dinner at Jazz Aspen Thursday night, then "wood and fine" Fri night (see last blog) then Food and Wine Saturday and Brad's cd release party that night. Then a solstice party at our friend's house on Sunday which was awesome with many kids, dogs, great food, weather and company. Then 1 full week of 7am meetings before work. It was supposed to be brutal BUT 2 of my 7am meetings were cancelled YAHOOO! Thursday, I hooked up with Shinta and had GREAT Indonesian food again and we finished chapter 4 of the grammar book (I hate grammar). Fri night we had a gourmet dinner with Brad's folks and then today we are going to visit our friends Kendrick and Holly to celebrate their daughter Satori's first birthday in Summit County. Busy times with lots of fun AND hangin with Clifford... tis never boring around here!

anniversary week

Hi all... so last week ended with camping 5 min out of town at Difficult campground with tons of people but Brad and I had our own mecca at the edge of camp. The weather was schizophrenic but overall fine and we stayed relatively dry. Then work for the week; still loving our new place and getting the "punch list" done finally. Had a great Aikido class with some old friends coming back who had been off the mat due to injury and travel. Then Thursday night started Brad and my 7th year anniversary weekend with dinner at Jimmy's and seeing Jamie Cullum at Jazz Fest which was awesome. People saw us in town with Brad in a jacket and me in a dress and took pictures and put us on facebook (it is so rare). Then last night was a party called "wood and fine" which is the poor folks version of "food and wine" which was great! Brad was wearing the utilikilt I got him for our first anniversary A LONG TIME AGO. Today I do get to go to "food and wine" and then Brad has a cd release party in town that tons of friends and I will be at. Tomorrow is a party at another friends ranch with many other friends so overall a great weekend and great way to celebrate our time together. AND we finally saw some sun in Aspen yesterday which helped the start of "on-season". Town is busy again and all is well with the world. Tis all til next week... Happy Father's Day...

still lovin the new space

This week we continued to grow into our new space... rugs came and more furniture. Still waiting to get the shades up and dishwasher in AND finish the 27 item punch list but I expect that to be all done by Sept (ughhh). Even with it not finished it is fantastic and we love it! Getting compliments daily and LOVING the warmth, efficiency and layout.

This week I also got to have dinner with Kendrick, Holly and their new baby Satori. The baby is BEAUTIFUL. Ken took my job in Breck and then met Holly there... I would LOVE them to come here and work with me but that is probably a pipe dream.
We did some landscaping at the house and yard work... it is either a crop circle or bigfoot has come for a visit. Brad had a CD release party in Carbondale which went well. I couldn't go since I was on call at the hospital but I will get to his next one which will be in Aspen next Sat night.

Other than that I have to start training for this marathon but the weather has been yucky so the idea of getting on a bike hasn't been fun. Soon though! I do continue to hike when I can and listen to interesting books on tapes while I do that. Keeps me moving. Although, I have discovered that Newman's Os are EVIL (I EAT TOO MANY OF THEM which will keep my dental hygenist in business)... we have vowed not to buy more of them.
Dad, it was great talking to you...

Well, today while I was recuperating and taking Clifford on a hike I was reflecting on the amazing fact that it is already June of 2009 and the year is half gone! It has gone so fast. There has been a lot that has occurred in my life already this year from travel, music festivals, big move etc AND life remains good. This week I started seeing patients in our new space (WHICH WE LOVE), celebrated the life of a friend that died recently, taught at the deaf camp (the new counselors are in and needed training on giving out meds etc), saw great music on the hill and after enjoyed Brad playing at a local bar, caught up with Shinta after her trip to CA, had meetings at the hospital ETC ETC ETC... I even got time to smell the flowers on my hike today (see pix). I hope you are all doing well and that your lives are full and happy.

Lots of love from CO.
